Day of Fun

What happened?

Day of Fun 5 took place on 31 May 2008 and was, as per usual, a roaring success. It was the biggest Day of Fun ever, with 23 teams and some 130+ people taking part. It ended with a big yellow party in the City – thanks to the lovely folk at The Apostle on Ludgate Hill for hosting us – after meeting on the steps of St Paul’s, much to the amusement and confusion of the tourists gathering there.

Why “Assignment Miami Beach”?

No reason, except that it’s the 5th instalment in the fantastic Police Academy series.

Who won?

In the biggest, most successful Day of Fun ever, everyone were winners, but some were more winners than others…

Team Jessters came first (for the 2nd year running!), thanks to an excellent synchronised Thriller with strangers, a good dog lick, the best McJob and a fairly filthy crossing of the line (which we won’t show here). Team Team Team Team Team were beaten into second place, despite the help of the best “Have a Drink on the Tube”, whilst Team Kindred Spirits snatched third (the best ever performance from a Hen party), with the help of some cadets and a baby.

Team Massive Bereavement won the Best in Show Award – see below – and also took home the Best Newcomer Award, thanks to a committed pouring of flour over the head, some bleeding, and that Best in Show effort. Team Kindred Spirits grabbed the Day of Fun Hen Party Award – all the best, Miss Kindred! – and debutants Team Latin brought up the rear to leave with the Wooden Spoon. Onwards and upwards!
